PCWork PCW07B Power Supply, 0–50 V

The second supply on the bench and the only one that goes above 30 V: up to 50 V, up to 3 A. Useful for 36 or 48 V circuits, stepper drivers, LED assemblies and anything the OWON cannot power. Compact and light, which is why this is the one we rent out.

How to use

1. Switch on with nothing connected. Set the voltage with the voltage knob.
2. Set the current limit: with the current knob from a low value, raising it with the circuit connected, or by shorting the output briefly with a lead and setting the limit on the display.
3. Connect the leads, check polarity: red is plus, black is minus, the green terminal is earth. Press Output.
4. The C.C. indicator means the circuit draws more than the limit and the supply is holding the current.
5. When done, press Output, remove the leads, switch the supply off.

Take care

• 50 V at the output can already be felt with fingers and is dangerous to circuits built for 5 or 12 V. Check the voltage on the display before pressing Output.
• Do not connect the output to a live circuit or in parallel with another source.
• Do not charge lithium cells from it.

Access and rental

The supply is on the electronics bench in the hackspace room, so a plan with hackspace access is required. No induction is needed.
